Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a flipped classroom method in writing descriptive text for the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Amir Hamzah. This study was conducted by using the Research and Development (R&D) method through six stages; gathering data and information, conducting need analysis, designing first form of media, validating by experts, revising media, and producing the final product as the a video. The subject of the study was the tenth grade students of SMA Swasta Amir Hamzah Medan. The instruments for collecting data were questionnaires and interview. The result of the study were there a video to be used in learning english specially in writing descriptive text. In the percentage form, the average score of experts’ validation in term of video aspect was 92%. These scores were categorized “Excellent”. It means the developed method for writing descriptive text was appropriate for the tenth grade students of SMA Swasta Amir Hamzah Medan.
