Entailment Analysis in Rans Entertainment‟s Vlog

This study discussed about entailment analysis in Rans entertainment‟s
vlog. The objectives were to find out the types of entailment used in Rans
Entertainment‟s vlog, to describe how the entailment realized in Rans
Entertaiment‟s vlog, and to explain the reasons entailment applied in Rans
Entertaiment‟s vlog in the ways they do. This study used descriptive qualitative
method. This study used Denscombe (2007:248) theory to analyzing the types of
entailment, the way entailments realized in Rans Entertainment's vlog and
elaborating the reasons entailments occur in Rans Entertainment‟s vlog in the
ways they do. The result of this study can be concluded in some aspects. First, the
types of entailment used in Rans Entertainment‟s vlog, the data not involved all
the types of entailment, just there three types, namely : One-way entailment with
29 appearances, the second is Two-way entailment with 9 appearances, the third is
Negative entailment with 6 appearances and the last one is Mutual entailment with
0 appearances. Second, the ways entailment realized in Rans Entertaiment‟s vlog
are by One-way entailment, where first, the truth of the first sentence follows the
second sentence and The second sentence becomes a sentence that confirms the
truth of the first sentence. Third, the reasons why entailment applied in Rans
Entertaiment‟s vlog in the ways they do, in this research there are two reasons
based on One-way entailment : a. If the first sentence is true then the second
sentence is certain. b. If the second sentence is true, it is not certain that the first
sentence is true it could be wrong.
