Metafora Leksikon-Leksikon Tumbuhan Dalam Peribahasa Batak Toba

This study analyzes the Batak Toba proverb which contains plant lexicons by using cognitive semantic studies. In this study, the author will reveal how conceptual mapping and cognitive processes are formed in the formation of Toba Batak proverbs. The data used as the basis for explaining cognitive processes is the proverb of the Batak Toba. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research. Initial research data were obtained from interviews with two native speakers, namely the traditional leader and the spokesman for the Toba Batak tribe. The technique used is the proficient technique, the proficient method or interview is a method for collecting data by conversations between researchers and informants. All proverbs are listened to, grouped by recording and selecting existing data. In the analysis process, the researchers classified the lexicon data of plant names based on plant parts. Furthermore, analyzing the data with metaphor conceptual mapping and the process of forming Toba Batak proverbs with plant lexicons. As a support, the researcher obtained data from the Toba Batak proverb collection book. The results showed that there were 30 uses of plant lexicons in Batak Toba proverbs. There are 7 metaphors of plant lexicons in the Toba Batak proverb, which consist of plant parts, namely roots / veins, seeds / lata, branches / dakka, thorns / suga, leaves / bulung, fruit / boras, flowers / mutik. The classification of plant lexicons based on seeds is divided into two, namely dicotyledons and monocotyledons, conceptualization based on body experience there are 13 metaphors of plant lexicons, conceptualization based on properties consists of 11 plant lexicon metaphors, conceptualization based on features consisting of 4 metaphors, conceptualization based on The function consists of 1 metaphor of plant lexicon, and conceptualization based on strength consists of 1 metaphor of lexicon.
