THE DEVELOPMENT OF BIOGRAPICAL TEXT TEACHING MATERIALS BASE ON THE FLIPBUILDER APPLICATION SUPPORTS INDEPENDENT LEARNING FOR STUDENTS

Independent learning is defined as the freedom to obtain information that is not only based on one source. Their campus aims to create individuals who are able to compete in many fields of knowledge. One thing that must be considered is that the use of the knowledge that has been obtained must be in accordance with the objectives of the lecture. This study aims to develop application based teaching materials that are useful for building independent characters among students who must be familiar with the process of independent learning if they continue their higher education level. This research was conducted by researchers as the prospective Indonesian teacher. Early research was taken place in Dr Wahidin Sudiorhusodo Senior High School Medan. This research method uses Research and Development (R&D) procedure according to Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono. Some steps are limited to only 4 steps: Potential problem, Data Collection, Design and Design Validation. Data Collection techniques are direct observation and filling out questionnaires by expert validators. Research results in the form of values obtained from expert validators which are calculated into the form of very good, good, quite good and not good categories. The validation of teaching materials got a score of 3,53 with a very good category. Linguistic validation of teaching materials got a score of 3,5 with a very good category and validation teaching materials media got a score 3,66 with a very good category. Based on the result obtained, the feasibility of teaching materials for biographical texts based on the Flipbuilder application got a very good category.
