Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes are taught using cooperative learning model Group Investigation with Snowball Throwing on the material Structure and Function of Networks in Plants in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Binjai Langkat District Year Learning 2018/2019 . The population in this study is all students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Binjai consisting of 4 classes. Samples were taken randomly and obtained samples for Group Investigation (XI IPA 1) class of 35 people and for Snowball Throwing (XI IPA 2) class of 35 people. The instrument used is the test of student learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice of 25
questions that have been validated first. The result of data analysis shows the posttest Group Investigation class with an average value of SD ± 79,2, while the Snowball Throwing class with an average value of
SD ± 56,22. T-test result obtained thit> ttab is 511,9> 1,99 with significant level α = 0,05, so Ha accepted and Ho rejected. This shows the difference of student learning outcomes by using cooperative
learning model of Group Investigation type with Snowball Throwing type on the structure and function of tissue in plants class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Binjai Langkat T.P 2018/2019.
