Abstract

This research focused on the students ability in
reading comprehension because reading comprehension is a
fundamental for english foreign learner in observing new
information and knowledge. Thus, this study was going to find
out the effect of teaching approaches and linguistic intelligence
on the students achievement in reading comprehension. This
study would be carried out by applying a quantitative method.
The Population of this research was all the students of grade ten
in senior high school of SMA Angkasa Medan. The sample of
research was taken by cluster random sample technique. The
result of this study revealed that the students with high
intelligence, it can be concluded that there is an interaction
between teaching approaches and linguistic intelligence on the
students achievement in reading comprehension
