AN ANALYSIS THE QUALITY OF INDONESIAN HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY TEXTBOOKS ON METABOLISM TOPIC

This study aims to analyze the quality of high school biology textbooks in Indonesia on the topic of metabolism. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all Biology textbooks Class XII curriculum 2013. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling with 2 textbooks. The topic chosen for comparison in research is a topic that is considered difficult namely metabolism. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The results showed that: Percentage of quality of textbook published by Grafindo Media Pratama in the aspect of content feasibility is 79% it is included in the criteria of Very Good. The percentage of the quality of textbook published by Yrama Widya in the aspect of content feasibility is 77% it is included in the criteria of Very Good. The percentage of quality of textbook published by Grafindo Media Pratama in the presentation aspect is 82% it is included in the criteria of Very Good. The percentage of the quality of textbook published by Yrama Widya in the presentation aspect is 80% it is included in the criteria of Very Good. Thus, it can be concluded that biology textbooks published by Grafindo Media Pratama and Yrama Widya are very good criteria and worthy of being used as learning manuals for students.
