The purpose of this study is to find out and get a picture of the lives of women prisoners in Labuhan Ruku Penitentiary. This is qualitative descriptive using an ethnographic approach. The data collection is done by in-depth interviews with participant observation. Then the data
analysis technique is done by conducting interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Detainees at Labuhan Ruku Assembly Institute are motivated The results of this study can be t is seen that Detention in Labuhan Rüku Correctional Institution is motivated by the development and progress of the current era which seems to be increasingly complex with various Kinds of criminal actions or behavior, can change the behavior and behavior of women prisoners for the better and there are large changes in the mental and psychological aspects of the female prisoners.
