Abstract

The aimed of this study were to determine the relationship between first year science student’s perception on IQF Curriculum based assignments and learning achievement in General Biology course. This research was conducted in FMIPA Medan State University academic year 2018/2019. The population consist of 9 classes with a population is 222 and the research sample taken by Total sampling. The method used in this study is correlational research while the data collected through student’s questionnaire. The questionnaires consisted of 40 questions. The findings revealed that student’s perception on IQF Curriculum based assignments belong to good category with the average score of students perceptions is 26.15 and the learning achievement on General Biology course belong to very good category with an average score is 85.6. The study also revealed that there is a significant correlation between the student’ perception and learning achievement this result shown by linearity test with regression equation Y ̂ = 0. 219x +79. 91 is declared linier with the F count < F table (0.067 <1.58), while for the regression test is also acceptable with F count > F table (15. 275 > 3. 88), from the value of a correlation coefficient is know that r count > r tab (0.264 > 0.1311) its means there is positive correlation between student’s perception with learning achievement, while the contribution of students perception to student’s achievement is 7 % this is found from coefficient determination. Meanwhile, the hypothesis test for this study showed that t count > t tab (4. 07 > 1. 97) that means Ha accepted Ho rejected.
