Abstract
This study aimed to design English questions based on Bloom’s Taxonomy on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions to enhance reading comprehension for grade tenth at SMA Swasta Raksana. The study was conducted by using Research and Development (R & D) design from Borg & Gall (2003). The new questions were designed based on C4, C5 and C6 of Bloom’s Taxonomy level where C4 was analyzing, C5 was evaluating and C6 was creating. The source of data of this study was the textbook “Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas X”, syllabus and lesson plan. The instruments used for collecting data were questionnaire, interview and documentation. The data were gathered by administering interview to the English teacher and questionnaire to experts or validators to know whether the questions were relevant or appropriate administered for students, documentation was needed to help the researcher run the research. The result of this study was 30 questions as the product that had been validated by two validators, English teacher and English lecturer. The average validation score from English lecturer and English teacher was 4.58. It was categorized as Very Good. It means the developing English questions were categorized as relevant or appropriate for the tenth grade students of senior high school.
