Abstract
This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade XI IPA 6 students of SMA Negeri 13 Medan by using Student Teams Achivement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model and Concept Map on the learning of the Human Excretion System. 2016/2017 learning. The type of research used is classroom action research conducted in two cycles. As for the indicators of success of the study include: Completeness of learning, percentage increase in student learning outcomes, and student activities. The instrument used is a multiple choice test of 30 questions. The average pretest score of students was 61.6, the average score of the students 'post-test I was 68.14, and the average score of the students' post-test II was 87.21. Classical learning completeness of students in the first cycle is 56.75% (17 people complete), this has not reached 85% of student
learning outcomes. Completeness of learning outcomes in cycle II was 93% (34 people were completed). The percentage of student activity in the first cycle was 70.83% and an increase in cycle II was 84.72%. The results of the study prove that the combination of Student Teams Achivement Division (STAD) learning model and Concept Map can improve the learning outcomes of students of class XI 6 of Medan 13 State High School.
