Abstract

The problem in this study is the low interest in students' learning in science subjects the subject of Simple Aircraft in class V SD 105287 Tembung. This study aims to improve student learning interest using the NHT type cooperative model and to find out whether the NHT type cooperative
learning model can improve student learning interest. The research conducted was classroom action research (CAR). Subjects in this study were students in grade V 105287 Tembung Elementary School 2016/2017 academic year with a total of 35 students consisting of 13 male students and 22 female students. This research was carried out in two cycles consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used are observation and questionnaire. Data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of the implementation research on the initial conditions using questionnaires obtained an average score of 58.08. In the first cycle after the action by using the NHT type cooperative model, the questionnaire obtained an average score of 72.68. In the second cycle, the questionnaire
obtained an average score of 92.37. Results of the overall student observation in the first cycle In the first cycle of the first meeting, the average percentage was 56.51%. In the first cycle of meeting II, the average score was 69.02%. In the second cycle of meeting I, the average score was 79.90%. In the second cycle of meeting II the average value was 93.08%. Overall teacher observation results increased 57%, 68.75%, 79.2% to 97%. Thus it can be concluded that the use of NHT type cooperative models can improve students' learning interest in natural science subjects in simple aircraft subjects in class V 105287 Tembung Public Elementary School 2016/2017 Academic
