Abstract
Patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.) is an herbaceous plant that has benefits as an antibacterial in traditional medicine. Endophytic fungi was isolated from patikan kebo plant has antibacterial power. This study aims to determine the most effective endophytic fungi isolate in the growth of pathogenic bacteria, to find secondary metabolites from endophytic fungi extract that were selected and the potential extract of selected endophytic fungi isolate in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria. This study uses TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) method for screening
secondary metabolites and Kirby-Bauer methods for testing antibacterial activity. This study uses descriptive analysis. The results showed that from 17 endophytic fungi isolates of patikan kebo, there was 1 isolate with the most inhibitory zone againts Eschericia coli and Staphylococcus
aureus bacteria, namely isolate Eh 14. Secondary metabolites by TLC showed that endophytic fungi extract Eh 14 has secondary metabolites of alkaloid, flavonoid, and steroid. Endophytic fungi extract Eh 14 has the potential to fight pathogenic bacteria with a inhibition zone diameter of 6,1 mm against Escherichia coli and 8,5 mm against Staphylococcus aureus. The conclusion in
this study is isolate Eh 14 has the most extensive inhibitory zone against pathogenic bacteria,
endophytic fungi extract Eh 14 resistant to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and has secondary metabolites of alkaloid, flavonoid, and steroid.
