KARAKTERISASI MORFOLOGIKESEMEK (Diospyros kaki L.) DI KABUPATEN KARO SUMATERA UTARA

Persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.) is one type of subtropical fruit plant that is classified in Indonesia and has the potential to be developed. This research was conducted in March-September 2018 in Karo District, North Sumatra. This research was carried out with descriptive analysis using descriptions of persimmon International Union For the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV).Persimmon plants have become plants in North Sumatra. There are no farmers who cultivate persimmon plants specifically. Characterization of persimmon can be recorded directly based on the International Union for New Plant Variety Protection (UPOV). Morphological characterization is an observation of physical appearance that can be seen and
measured, like fruit, fruit diameter, fruit weight, fruit color, leaf shape and leaf color. Morphological characterization has disadvantages, namely that it does not necessarily indicate that genetic diversity is actually different, because of the good environment for plant morphology.
