Abstract
This aimed to find out the gender differences between male and female students’ interest in biology topics grade X and XI, the most interesting and the most uninteresting biology topics in senior high schools. The study was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah, SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan, SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bamban, SMA Negeri 1 Pegajahan, SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Mengkudu. The instrument in this research was questionnaire using Guttman scale to 550 students. This research was a descriptive with quantitatif data. This was a non-parametric test, Mann-Whitney U test that it analyzed using SPSS for IBM SPSS Statistic 23 program. According to the result of this study, the students’ interest in biology topics were differed significantly that were reproductive system in humans, circulatory system in humans, digestive system in human, respiratory systems in humans, nervous system in humans (central and peripheral nervous system), excretion system in humans, drugs and its effect to human health, and environment, and structure and function in plants tissue (p < 0.05) which were more female interested in biology topics than male students.
