Abstract

This study aims to produce and improvement the effectiveness of student worksheets developed by Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). The type of research is a development research (R&D). There are 2 phases in this research. The first phase is called Front – End Analysis phase. It is used to analyze and determine the basic competence for mathematics that the students satisfied by considering Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) in 2006 for VIII grade of Junior High School in material cube and cuboid. The second phase is called Formative Analysis phase. It is used to analysis of the learning process to see the student’s response of student worksheet. The research has done in MTs Cerdas Murni Tembung. The subjects of this research are the sudents at VIII-1 grade at even semester. The research instrument used was lesson plan assessment sheet and student worksheets to measure validity, concept comprehension test ability and student response questionnaire.The result of the research are : (1) Based on the expert validation, the student worksheet that is compiled by the researcher has validation is 93,75 %. It means that the result of validation is very feasible, (2) The worksheet that have developed has fulfilled the criteria of effectivenes by : a) The completion of classical learning is 90,32% , b) The achievement of goal completion in accordance with the advice given by the validator; c) The time is reached if the time does not exceed the specified time , and d) the response of student are positive to instrument component developed.
