Abstract
The aim of the research is to determine the students’ learning difficulty on Structure and Function of Plant Tissue topic which viewed from the cognitive aspects from Low Order Thinking until High Order Thinking, learning indicator aspects and the factors that affected on it. The method used is descriptive quantitative.The population of the research is all students at grade XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Medan. The sample was taken purposively (144 students). The instruments used to obtain data were multiple choices and questionnaires. The results showed student’s learning difficulty: (1) On cognitive aspect from Low Order Thinking until High Order Thinking, the difficulties are categorized from moderate to high level and the highest percentage is on C6 level as 82,99%,(2) On learning indicator aspect, the students have various difficulties categories from low to high level with the highest found at the 6th indicator in explaining the differences in anatomy of monocot and dicotyledonous plants as 72,05%, (3) Learning Activity is the dominant factor that categorized as very influence in causing students’ learning difficulties which is 73,92%
