Abstract
The aim of this study is to know the level of students’ interest and attitude as correlates of learning achievement in biology of student class XI MIA. This study belongs to descriptive research and was conducted in SMA Negeri 8 Medan. The population is all students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 8 Medan. The research sample was taken purposive sampling as many as 90 students. The instrument in this study is questionnaires. There are students’s interest and students’ attitude questionnaire. Data is analyzed by SPSS. The results showed that: (1) The level of students’ interest are 40 students (46%) in very high level, 27 students (29%) in high level, and 23 students (25%) in moderate level (2) The level of students’ attitude are 36 students (40%) in very high level, 30 students (33%) in high level, and 24 students (27%) in moderate level (3) The correlation between students’ interest and students’ attitude toward learning achievement with correlation coefficient is 0,369 in students’ attitude and 0,360 in students’ attitude
