Abstract

This study investigates the cognitive level of biology questions in school, national and PISA tests tested in 2015. Descriptive quantitatif design involving analysis of variance (ANOVA) also investigated the differences of question cognitive level of school, national and PISA tests. The samples of this study were mid test of first semester, final test of first semester, mid test of second semester and final test of second semester (school tests), national tests code 1 and PISA test questions which were tested in 2015. The study used Bloom’s taxonomy cognitive level revised version as the indicator to classified the questions. The findings showed that 74% of school test questions were asked in low level (C1 and C2) then categorized as low level questions, 48% of national test questions were asked in moderate level (C3 and C4) then categorized as moderate level questions, and 70% of PISA test questions were asked in moderate level (C3 and C4) then categorized as moderate level questions.
