Abstract
This study is about The Indonesian Affixes Acquisition by A Five-Year-Old of Batak Toba Child. The objective of this were to: (1) ) to investigate types of affixes that are acquired by a five year old Batak Toba Child, and (2) to describe the way a five year old Batak Toba child acquired the affixes in daily activities. The design of the study was Descriptive Qualitative Research. The data were obtained from one Batak Toba child. In collecting the data, this study applied documentation with audio recorder as the instrument of colleting the data. The technique of data analysis used in this study was descriptive technique, and the data were described through the process of transcribing the data and reducing the data by the process of selecting, focusing, simplifying and transforming the transcripts of the data, after that, displaying the data and at last drawing the conclusion. The result of the study were : (1) The five year old Batak Toba child has acquired Prefixes (ber-, di-, me-, ter-, ke-.), suffixes(-kan, -an, -i) and circumfixes (ke-an,ber-an).The child has high usage of affixes : Prefix = 47.6%, Suffix = 44.4 % and Circumfix = 8%. (2)The way a five year old Batak Toba child acquired the Indonesian affixes in Bahasa Indonesia namely first, is from the environment such as from family members and neighborhood, second is from cartoon films. And the third is from the child songs.
