Abstract
Heavy load jlucluates constanly against component material structure has led to fatigue. This brings a negatif effect on the material, namely a decrease in the mechanical properties and the accurance undesired fatigue crack.So that when the components receives impact loads (high strain rate), it is feared will happen fracture in the area qj the fatigue crack. Therefore it is necessary to do a series of impact test on AA2024- T3 material as one of the ingredients on the rim car has experienced fatigue in order to determine how much reduction in impact strength occured Is the decline in impact strength occur significant or not. The method uSJ:d in this study is MetodeSplit Hopkinson PreSSfiTc Bar, is a method used tC measure the voiJage impulsive moment.From the test results of non-impact tensile strength of 482.32 MPa fatigue and to pre-fatigued amounted to 312.61 MPa, so that can know the percentage dicrease In tensile strength caused by fatigue impact amounted to 35,19%. Limit fatigue strengh ( endurance limit) AA2024- T3 is the stress amplitude of 143 MPa, where the endurance limit is smaller or equal to a half times its ultimate Tensile Strength ( Se ≤ 0,5 Sut). From the research result can be imformed that the difference in length of 3 - 4mm between the specimen impact ASTM E466, do not give a significant impact on its test result.
