Abstract
The purpose of conducting this research was find out whether the most dominant learning style in reading comprehension and to describe how the teacher conduct reading activity based on the most learning styles of students so that the teacher know which is the fastest students’ learning style in reading comprehension at the tenth grade students at SMA Swasta Dharmawangsa Medan in academic year 2017/2018. There were 31 students from 1 class as the subject of this research. In this case, the researcher collected the data by using learning style questionnaire and observation. The result showed that visual learning style is the most dominant learning style at the tenth grade students at SMA Swasta Dharmawangsa Medan, the percentage was 45,16%, it means 14 from 31 students prefer to read than hear and move. The second was auditory learning style (35,48%). Then, kinaesthetic learning style was (19,36%).The teacher was conducted six ways in teaching reading comprehension to know the students fastest in their learning styles. They were giving greeting to the students, introducing the topic to the students, providing information about descriptive text to the students, giving instruction to the students, commanding the students to read the text, assessing the students’ achievement.
