Abstract
This study deals with the Experiential Function of Male and Female Presenters in Apa Kabar Indonesia Talk Show on TV One. This study attempted to investigate the elements of experiential function are used by male and female presenters, to describe how the experiential function are realized and to elaborate the reasons why the experiential function elements are realized in the ways they are. This study was conducted by using qualitative design. The data in this study were the clauses of male and female presenters, and the source of data in this study was Apa Kabar Indonesia Talk Show on TV one. The research findings show that all types of process found in the female presenter; material, mental, relational, verbal, behavioral, and existential process. Meanwhile, five types of process found in male presenter; material, mental, relational, verbal, and behavioral process. Existential process didn’t find in male presenter. The dominant process used by male presenter was relational process and the dominant participant used was carrier and attributive. Meanwhile, material process found dominantly in female presenter, and the dominant participants were actor and goal. The dominant circumstance of male and female presenter was location. The processes were realized congruently and incongruently. The dominant process used dominantly by female presenters, because male presenter was simpler in the speaking. It can be seen; the text didn’t use the existential process which was the process of existing with there and be the verb with no represential function. Meanwhile, the dominant process used dominantly by female presenter, because female presenter concerning physical activity and it is done as real by the actor from the case.
