Abstract

Foreign exchange reserves are very important for the economic welfare of a country. Without adequate reserves, the economy can stop. Therefore, this study aims to understand the original framework of foreign exchange reserves and their significance in economic development. As well as To analyze statistically the trends in foreign exchange reserves in Indonesia in the study period defined from 2004-2016 and based on secondary data.his study also attempts to analyze data describing that foreign exchange reserves have experienced significant changes or not. It further explains the increase in total reserves, gold reserves and their share of total reserves in the periods of research. Further analysis on the amount of foreign exchange reserves based on foreign currency reserves supporting our foreign exchange reserves with balance of payments. So in this study we can see which component shows an increase in the period 2004-2016. And researchers are trying to show factors that can be expressed as the responsible factor for the increase of foreign exchange reserves in Indonesia.
