Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the sectors and superior areas of Serdang Bedagai District which is then used as a guide to determine what actions should be taken to accelerate the growth rate. The research was conducted in Serdang Bedagai Regency To answer the problem, then used several data analysis methods, namely: 1) Klassen Typology Analysis used to obtain the growth classification of economic sector of Serdang Bedagai Regency; 2) Location Quotient Analysis (LQ) is used to determine the base and non-base sectors in the regional economy of Serdang Bedagai Regency.From the analysis of Klassen Typology and LocationQuotient obtained three sectors that are the leading sectors and the base sector or non-base that is the agricultural sector, mining and quarrying sector, and building sector. Agricultural commodities which are the base sector and can be favored to be developed in the economy of Serdang Bedagai Regency are found in food commodities which are rice crops. Commodity of vegetable plants is mustard plant. Fruit plant commodities are found in duku / langsat and durian plant commodities. Plantation commodity crops are found in palm oil commodities. Livestock commodities are found in poultry commodities.
