Abstract
Poverty is one of the problems in a complex and multidimensional economy. Therefore it is necessary to find solutions to overcome or at least reduce the level of poverty. This study aims to determine the effect of foreign investment and GRDP of North Sumatra ADHB on the number of poor people in the province of North Sumatra. Researchers use literature research instruments, documentation studies, internet browsing, where the data source used is secondary data taken from the Central Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia from 2000 to 2016. The analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis using the program e-views 8.1 and performs classic assumption tests and uses simultaneous hypothesis testing (F) and partial (t).The results show that partially Foreign investment and GRDP of North Sumatra ADHB have significant and insignificant effect on the number of poor people in North Sumatera Province and simultaneously Foreign investment and GRDP of North Sumatra ADHB have significant effect to the number of poor people in North Sumatera Province.
