Abstract
The affectivity of audiovisual media to enhance the student’s achievement toward chemistry for senior high school (SHS) on the teaching of colloid is explained in the paper. The research was conducted onto second year of three private SHS in Medan, Province of North Sumatra through teaching of students by using audiovisual as an educational media. The colloid was chosen as a chemistry subject that was compulsory for second year SHS students. The affectivity of audivisual media to improve student’s achievements on the teaching of colloid was assessed, that was by comparing their ability to solve chemistry problem before and after the teaching processes have been carried out. The study concluded that the bacause the existing teaching media guided the students to study sytematically on solving chemistry,and an educational media was also be able to encourage studentd to study independenly.
