Abstract
The aim of this research is to know whether Pupils’ Mathematical Problem Solving
Ability taught by Problem Based Learning (PBL) using Autograph is different with Project
Based Learning (PjBL) Using Autograph. The population of this research is all pupils in class
VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pagaran. Sampling techniques that is used in this research is simple random
sampling. There are two samples in this research those are, Class A is VIII A taught by PBL and
Class B is VIII B taught by PjBL. Each of class consist of 30 pupils. Technique of analyzing data
is consist of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis test. Based on normality and homogeneity
test, the data was taken from normal distribution and homogeneous population. Hypothesis test
is operated by using analysis of t-test. The result of t-test show that tcalculated = 3,785 and ttable =
1,6723. Consequently tcalculated > ttable, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, we can conclude
that Pupils’ mathematical problem solving ability taught by Problem Based Learning model
using Autograph is higher than taught by Project Based Learning using Autograph in grade VIII
SMP Negeri 2 Pagaran A.Y 2017/2018
