Abstract

The aim of this research is to design a heat exchanger equipments that exploit the heat recovery from an air conditioner machine. The object of this research is an air conditioner machine at Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Unimed laboratory. Before doing the heat exchanger device design, beforehand doing survey and perception to object to know if there is possibility to exploit the heat recovery again. Data obtained from antecedent research is analysed and is made as base for purpose research, where the data indicate that the heat recovery content is still high enough and still enable to be used. The prototype is made from helix-coiled and the examination result indicate that the heat recovery energy can boost up the water temperature at atmospheric standard. The water that have high temperature can be used for certain needs. This matter become important because it can lessen of energy consumption which ought to be used to produce hot water and finally energy can be used as efficient as possible for the sake of other which requiring it.
