Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang signifikan pada penggunaan media audio visual terhadap pembelajaran geografi terhadap minat belajar geografi siswa di kelas XI IPS 1 MAN 1 Medan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MAN 1 Medan. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas XI IPS 1 Mengingat populasi yang terbatas, maka diambil sampel kelas XI IPS 1. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengamatan langsung dan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah komunikasi tidak langsung yaitu; angket, data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan media audio visual memiliki hubungan signifikan terhadap minat belajar geografi siswa di MAN 1 Medan dengan nilai rhitung = 0,693 > rtabel = 0,320. Untuk menguji hipotesis dilakukan uji t. Diperoleh thitung = 5,766. Kemudian thitung dibandingkan dengan ttabel untuk tingkat kesalahan 5% yaitu 2,024. Maka thitung = 5,766 > ttabel = 2,024 , hipotesis alternatif diterima.
