Abstract
The learning process in formal education institutions is still generally conventional. This can be found in the secondary schools such as vocational schools. As widely practiced, conventional learning method applied by the teachers in the teaching learning process fails to capture students’ attention. Students are not actively engaged in the learning process. Hence, to arouse students’ attention, this paper reports on the development of a computer-based learning media design at a Vocational High School in Medan, Indonesia. The research model used in this study is ASSURE model (Analyze State Objective Select Method Utilize Require
Evaluate). Based on the results of the questionnaires as the data collection instrument in this study, an average
value of 4.82 is obtained from material experts and an average value of 4.77 is obtained from media experts whilst an average value of 4.40 is obtained from students as the users. It is concluded that the media developed is
effectively designed and can be put into practice in the learning process.
