Abstract
A research on the comparison study of metals zamzam water traded compared with zamzam water Mecca - Saudi Arabia. Samples analyzed were genuine zamzam water mecca taken by pilgrims in Mecca and zamzam water traded in a market in the Medan City. Sample I (native Mecca zamzam water) and sample II (zamzam water being traded) analyzed the levels of concentration of the elements As (arsenic) and Fe (iron). Samples I and II respectively - each added HNO3 (concentrated) to pH < 2. Taken as 100 mL then inserted into a glass beaker and added 5 mL HNO3 (concentrated). Heated until almost dry, then dissolved in 50 mL of deionized water (DI water) and shake to homogenize. Then determined the levels of the elements As and Fe using Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (ICP - MS). The results showed that As metal levels in zamzam water original mecca samples and zamzam water traded samples in a row is 4,75 μg/L and 8,582 μg/L and Fe metal levels in zamzam water original mecca samples and zamzam water traded samples in a row is 0,222 μg/L dan 0,75 μg/L. The metals content of As and Fe in two samples still meet WHO standards and Permenkes 492 / Menkes / Per / IV / 2010. The zamzam water traded As and Fe metals composition which has a much higher concentration value with the concentration of zamzam water is the source of authenticity derived from the city of Mecca - Saudi Arabia.
