Abstract
The objectives of this research were to find out the six processes (Material, Mental, Relational, Behavioral, Verbal and Existential) from Male’s and Female’s language in “Fire Proof� movie and find out the dominant one from each of their languages. This research was conducted by using qualitative and quantitative method. The source of the data was Fire Proof movie. After collecting, it was found that there were 494 clauses of Caleb’s spoken language and 286 clauses in Catherine’s. The six processes were found in each of the sections with total percentage: Material Process is 175(35.42%), Relational Process is 83(29.22% ), Mental Process is 77(27.11% ), Verbal Process is 18(6.33% ), Behavioral Process is 16 (5.63% ), and Existential Process is 3 (0.70%). The dominant one is Material Process 175(35.42%). Meanwhile types of process in Catherine’s dialogue are: Mental Process is 89(31.33%), Process is 83(29.22% ), Material Process is 77(27.11% ), Verbal Process is 18(6.33% ), Behavioral Process is 16 (5.63% ), and Existential Process is 3 (0.70%). Mental Process becomes the dominant process in Catherine’s dialogue with total numbers and percentage is 89(31.33%).
