CODE SWITCHING IN GAUL BARENG BULE ON TRANS TV PROGRAM

This study deals with the use of code switching in Gaul Bareng Bule on Trans TV Program. The objectives of this study were to find out the components of language used in code switching dominantly used on Gaul Bareng Bule on Trans TV Program. The source of data were the videos of Gaul Bareng Bule on Trans TV Program during October 2012 were four episodes . The data were limited only in code switching used by the participants of Gaul Bareng Bule and analyzed based on the components of language which are word, phrase, clause, and sentence. The research was carried out on descriptive qualitative method. The results of the analysis show that all of the components of language found in Gaul Bareng Bule on Trans TV Program were code switching in word 14,28 %, in phrase 1,78 %, in clause 1,78 %, and in sentence 82,14 %. The most dominant components of language used were sentence. It is hoped that the result of this study is useful to everyone who wants to study about code switching.
