Abstract

This study focuses on the improvement of students writing achievement in hortatory exposition text through Dictogloss Technique. This study deals with classroom action research which was done in 6 meetings. The subject of this study was the second grade of SMK Harapan Stabat, class XI-3 AP. One class is totally taken as the subject of this study. The number of the sample is 37 students. The data of this study were obtained from the writing test, observation sheet, and diary notes. Based on the analysis data, it was found that the students achievement improved from the orientation test, test cycle 1, and test cycle 11. The findings of this study indicated that Dictogloss Technique improved the students writing achievement, the mean of cycle 1 = 64,27 and the mean of cycle 11 =72,16.
