Abstract
The problem of this research is lack the learning outcomes of students. Its purpose is to fine out the effect of cooperative learning model STAD type of students` learning outcomes to Economy in SMA Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar on Academic Year 2014/2015. This study used experimental methods. The population used in this research was XI IPS-1 and XI IPS-2 SMA Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar in academic year 2014/2015. While the sample was amount 80 students which consist of two class, XI IPS-2 as experimental class and XI IPS-1 as control class. The technique of sampling is total sampling. The instrument in this research was test of learning outcomes in 20 items and formed multiple choice. Data analysis technique used was normality test to know whether the sample is normal distribution or not, homogenity test to know whether their variation are same or not, the hypothesis test used t-test. The result of data analysis showed that the average of experimental class was 71 with deviation standard of 14,98. While the average of the control class was 52,25 with deviation standard of 14,26. The hypothesis test was conducted by using t-test with dk = n1 + n2 – 2 at significance level 0.05. From calculation, it was gotten tcalculate = 5,841 and ttable = 1,667 and tcalculate > ttable (5,841 > 1,667). It means that hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that there is the eaffect of cooperative learning model STAD type to students` learning outcomes in Economy at grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar on Academic Year 2014/2015
