Abstract
This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Lima Puluh academic year 2014/2015. It intended to know whether student`s mathematical critical thinking ability in Problem Based Learning classroom is better than student`s mathematical critical thinking ability in cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type classroom at SMPN 2 Lima Puluh. The population of this research was all students at SMPN 2 Lima Puluh. The sample was taken from grade VIII by purposive sampling technique, classes selected were VIII-B as an experimental class I taught by Problem Based Learning Model and VIII-C as an experimental class II taught by Cooperative Learning Model Think-Pair-Share type. Each class consists of 30 students as sample of research. Research design of this study was posttest-only comparison group design with the technique of data analysis used is independent sample t-test. Result of this study with α = 0.05, showed that tcalculation > ttable then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that student`s mathematical critical thinking ability in Problem Based Learning classroom is better than students`s mathematical critical thinking ability in cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type classroom at SMPN 2 Lima Puluh.
