THE DIFFERENCE OF STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME AND ACTIVITY BETWEEN THINK PAIR SHARE AND NUMBERED HEAD TOGETHER MODEL ON HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM IN CLASS XI SMA NEGERI 11 MEDAN ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/2014

This quasy experiment research aims to investigate the difference of student learning outcome and activity between Think Pair Share and Numbered Head Together model on human reproductive system in SMA Negeri 11 Medan Academic Year 2013/2014. The population of this research was all students in SMA Negeri 11 Medan totaling 223 students. The sample was taken by using random sampling and was obtained the sample for 38 students of Think Pair Share (XI IPA 5) and 38 students of Numbered Head Together class (XI IPA 6). The instrument of research was students learning outcome test in multiple choice form with 30 questions which had been validated by expert. The result of data analysis showed that pre-test in Think Pair Share class (43.73±10.98 ) and pre-test in Numbered Head Together class (41.97±9.28). After t test was carried out by using significance degree &#945; = 0,05, it was obtained that tcalculate = 0.75 < ttable = 1.99, so it can be known both classes had no difference of student learning outcome before implementation. Post-test in Think Pair Share class (77.65±6.73) has difference compared with pos-test in Numbered Head Together (74.47±5.63). It was obtained that tcalculate = 2.24 > ttable = 1.99, define student learning outcome of biology in Think Pair Share is higher than student learning outcome in Numbered Head Together. Then, the average result of student activity in Think Pair Share and Numbered Head Together was 73.80 : 71.32. It means that student activities in Think Pair Share is more active than student activity in Numbered Head Together.
