Abstract
The aims of research are knowing the conformity of assessment by physics teacher at several senior high schools in Medan with the assessment standard that set up by government, knowing the mechanism of arranging and concerting of assessment by physics teacher in Medan, knowing the factors are inhibiting the physics teachers in implementing standardized assessment and knowing the school in Medan is already evolving own assessment standard. The objects of research are twelve of Senior High School in Medan. Total numbers of subjects or data sources are twenty-five persons consist of nine persons of Physics teacher and nineteen persons of Professional Physics teacher. The research is using qualitative method where researcher is the main instrument. Technical data collections are observation, questionnaires and in-depth interview.
The results of research are the implementation of assessment by physics teacher is not appropriate with curriculum demanded, behavior of physics teacher in concerting and arranging of assessment mechanism is not maximal, factors inhibiting of physics teacher in implementing assessment standard are teachers' understanding is lack to develop and implement assessment standard, the government conducted socialization and guidance about implementation of authentic assessment is minimal, processing of schools supervisory and regulatory systems do not work maximally, size of class, and the student’s curiosity to follow Physics subject is low. Based on the research that have done in twelve Senior High School obtained that there is no school that has own assessment standard.
