Abstract

This study aims to : 1) determint the increase mathematical communication skill and emotional intelligence among students who are taught using TTW cooperative learning and conventional learning. 2) the interaction between mathematics learning approach with students’ prior knowledge to the improvement of mathematical communication skill and emotional intelligence of students, 3) determine students answers settlement process in resolving problems in each lesson. The population was all students of class VII SMP district kuta panjang, and samples of class VII SMPTI ladia galaska and SMP N 1 kuta panjang. The results showed that: 1) improved mathematical communication skill and emotional intelligence among students who are taught using TTW cooperative learning better than conventional learning. 2) there is an interaction between early math abilities of students (high, medium, low) and learning of mathematical improvement of communication skills and emotional intelligence of students.
