Abstract
During the recently, English has increasingly become a medium for teaching and learning of other subject. This use of english as an auxiliary language is especially important in many countries, which rely to a great extent on textbook written in english especially at the university level. However English is taught in this major is not general english anymore. Esp is used where english is learned with some spesific relational or educational purpose in midnd.the objectives of this research were to discover and evaluate the planning of ESP course design for banking, the implementation of ESP course design for banking, the match of the planning and implementation of ESP course design for students of banking.ESP is the suitabli andd important course to apllied to teach students. The objectives of the qualitative research were identifying the language skill and developing English material for students of bankin. The researcher observed the available the English material that were used by the lecture. In order to accomodate the students future carreer, a needs analysis was carried out so as to discoverthe present situation analysis (PSA) and Target Situation Analysis. A qusetionnaires and interview questions were used as the instruments of data collection. From the data analysis it was found the planning and implementation in designing an ESP course design for banking students didnt fulfill the whole requirementss in designing an ESP course design. Furthermore the students needed mayerials which are actual materials relating to their major. These actual materiaks are expected to stimulate students to study Englih well. The researcher also found that the proper lecturers for the ESP course must be a lecturer from the related department finding, some conclusion and suggestion are directed to the plannning and implementation of ESP course design for banking as the importance of needs analysis and review of the models of learning with actual materials related to their major.
