THE EFFECT OF APPLYING WORD WEBBING TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS�

This study deals with The Effect of Applying Word Webbing Technique on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery. The objective of this study is to find out whether word webbing technique significantly affects on students’ vocabulary mastery. The sample of this study was the fourth grade of SD Negeri 101778 Medan Estate, in academic 2012/2013, totally 60 students. They were divided into two groups. The first group was experimental group which was taught by using Word Webbing Technique and the second group was control group which was taught without using Word Webbing Technique. The tests were vocabulary tests. The data were analyzed by using t- test formula to find out the value of the t- observed, which was compared to the t- table in level of significance 0, 05. It is found that the t- observed is higher than t- table (t-observed = 5,70 > t-table = 2,00 ; p = 0,05), it could be concluded that Word Webbing Technique has significant effect on students’ vocabulary mastery.
