Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah “Rendahnya aktivitas dan hasilbelajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Sains”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmengetahui dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapatmeningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar sains siswa di kelas IV SDIT An-Nadwa Islamic Center Binjai Utara.Penelitian ini dilaksankan di SDIT An-Nadwa Islamic Center yang beralamatdi Jl. Teuku Umar No.89 Kelurahan Nangka, Binjai Utara. Subjek dalam penelitian iniadalah siswa kelas IV SDIT An-Nadwa yang berjumlah 26 orang, terdir i dar i 11 orangsiswa laki-laki dan 15 orang siswa perempuan. Teknik yang digunakan untukmengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan tes dan observasi. Tesyang digunakan adalah essai test, essai test diambil dar i buku paket siswa. Observasiaktivitas belajar siswa dilakukan secara langsung pada saat proses belajar mengajardengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning.Dari hasil analisis diperoleh data pretes sebagai hasil belajar awal siswadengan 26,92% yang tuntas dengan nilai rata-rata siswa 56,15. Data postes siklus Idengan rata-rata nilai 64,61 dengan 42,31% siswa yang memenuhi ketuntasan.Sedangkan, data postes siklus II dengan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa 77,12 dengan84,62% siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Berarti adapeningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari postes siklus I ke postes siklus II sebesar 42,31%.Hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswasebesar 50% dari siklus I ke silkus II. Dimana Siklus I pertemuan 1 (23,08%)pertemuan II sebasar (34,62%) dan pada siklus II pertemuan I (61,54%) sedangkanSiklus II pertemuan II sebesar (92,31%).Hasil observasi guru juga mengalami peningkatan dimana pada siklus Ipertemuan I hasil observasi guru sebesar 60,30% pada pertemuan II sebesar 69,12%sedangkan pada siklus II Pertemuan I hasilnya sebesar 79,41% dan pada pertemuan IIsebesar 95,59%.Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis yang menyatakanterdapat peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada mata pelajaran sains di kelas IV SDIT An-NadwaIslamic Center Binjai Utara Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012 dapat diterima.
