Abstract

The objective of this study are knowing the effectiveness of online learning discussion methods based on Problem Based Learning on Limit Subject Matter during the COVID-19 Pandemic and finding out if the online learning discussion methods based on Problem Based Learning was able to help learners in understanding limit materials. The data collection in this study is to use questionnaires that will be shared with students and will be collected through WhatsApp, Google Meeting, and Google Forms. The questionnaires have been shared to the student in class XI-MIA 3 of SMA Negeri 16 Medan 2021-2022 school year. The results of this study are online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in mathematics lessons on Limit Function material based on Problem Based Learning can be said to be effective. Because based on the four indicators used to measure effectiveness, it has the following percentage results: (1) Quality of Instruction has a percentage of 81.89%, (2) appropriate levels of instruction have a percentage of 76.1566%, (3) Incentives for Learning has a percentage of 79.72%, and (4) Time of Learning has a percentage of 85%. Because the four indicators above have a percentage above 75%, it can be concluded that online learning carried out using Whatsapp Group and Google Meet has been effective. Because the online learning that has been carried out has been said to be effective, therefore this online learning based on discussion method and problem based learning learning model can help students in understanding the material limit function.
