Appraisal Attitudes by the Judges on Indonesian Idol “Grand Final” Session

This thesis focuses on the study of appraisal attitudes by the judges on indonesian idol “grand final” session. The research method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. The data of this research was analyze by Interactive Model of Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2014). The purpose of the study was: (1) to describe the types of attitude applied by the judges in Indonesian idol grand final session; (2) to explain attitudes levels of the judges in Indonesian idol grand final session; (3) to describe the reason why the attitude occurs in the way they do. The subject of this study were five Indonesian Idol judges. And all Indonesian Idol had been the sources of the data. It was based on theory of Arikunto (2010), if the subjects are under 100, it is better to take all as the subjects. The data of this research were the utterances of the Indonesian idol when commenting the contestants in grand final session. And the instrument of collecting the data here used observation. Based on the data analysis proved that : (1) the types of attitude applied by the judges in Indonesian idol grand final session were affect, judgement and appreciation, (2) the attitudes levels of the judges in Indonesian idol grand final session were responding, valuing, organizing and internalizing value, and (3) the reason of the langugage attitude occurances were found three element, they were cognitive element, affective element and behaviour element.
