Abstract

The study aims to is to investigate the effect of picture word inductive model on students achievement in writing narrative text. This research was conducted by using experimental design. Population of this research was for tenth grade students of SMA Al Hidayah Medan. Two class were divided into two group. The student in experimental group were taught by using Picture Word Inductive Model while student in control group were taught by using conventional method. To collecting the data was taken from writing test. After analyzing the data, it was found that the value of t- obs was 3.34 with degree of freedom (df) = 58 at the level of significant p (0.05) =2.000. It means that t observed was higher than t table (3.34 > 2.00). The result of this study showed that teaching by applying Picture Word Inductive Model significantly affected the student achievement in writing narrative text.
