Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop teaching media through Who Am I Game on descriptive text for the first grade students at SMP Pahlawan Nasional. This study was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) design. The data was consisted of information who gathered by validating from the validators and distributing questionnaires to the students. The instrument used in this study was questionnaires. The data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative analysis. The result of the product from two validators – by an English Lecturer from state University of Medan and by an English Teacher from SMP Pahlawan Nasional, was in a good scale it comes from the experts or validators. The first validators gave 80% score for the content and visual media, while from the second validators gave 90% score for the content media and 94% score for the visual media. And the students in small group result was 89,8% score while the students in field trial result was 89,96% score. It meant that the developed product is eligible to be used for teaching writing descriptive text for the first grade students at SMP Pahlawan Nasional.
