SPEECH ACT IN HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA MOVIE

The study deals with finding the types and dominant type of speech act used inHotel Transylvania Movie. The data were taken from the main character in HotelTransylvania Movie that is Count Dracula. The study was conducted by usingdescriptive qualitative design. The findings showed that there were 299 utteranceswhich contained 4 types of speech act. Count Dracula tended to use therepresentative (45,15%), directive (38,13%), expressive (9,70%), and commisive(7,02%). The most dominant type of speech act was representative because hemainly uses the statement of arguing, asserting, informing and describing. Itshows that in conversation’Count Dracula’ mostly gave information and statementabout human world.
