Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan – kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pada pokok bahasan pertidaksamaan dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Active Learning tipe Index Card Match (ICM) dan untuk megetahui apakah ada peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matemátika siswa pada pokok bahasan pertidaksamaan dengan pendekatan Active Learning tipe Index Card Match (ICM). Lokasi penelitian adalah SMA Negeri 1 Silima Pungga – pungga, Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X yang berjumlah 30 orang. Objek yang diteliti adalah penerapan pendekatan Active Learning tipe Index Card Match (ICM) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Adapun instrumen pengumpul data pada penelitian ini adalah berupa tes, observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dibagi atas dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari dua kali pertemuan. Sebelum memberikan tindakan, siswa diberikan tes awal, setiap akhir siklus diberikan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada pokok bahasan pertidaksamaan siswa kelas X mulai dari tes awal sampai tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dari tes awal yaitu 4 dari 30 orang (13,33%) dengan rata-rata kelas 44,17. Hasil analisis data pada siklus I setelah dilakukan pendekatan Active Learning tipe Index Card Match (ICM), banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar adalah 14 dari 30 orang (46,67%) dengan rata-rata kelas 62,67. Hasil analisis data pada akhir siklus 2 dengan pendekatan yang sama serta dikalaborasikan dengan metode pengajaran ekspositori , banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar adalah 26 dari 30 orang (86,67%) dan rata-rata kelas 82,03. Berdasarkan kriteria ketuntasan belajar klasikal maka pembelajaran ini telah mencapai target ketuntasan belajar klasikal. Kesulitan – kesulitan siswa yang didapat dari hasil wawancara I telah diatasi pada siklus kedua dengan cara memperhatikan siswa – siswa yang mempunyai masalah pada pemecahan masalah. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan pendekatan Active Learning tipe Index Card Match (ICM), kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada pokok bahasan pertidaksamaan siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Silima Pungga - pungga meningkat. Saran yang diajukan yaitu guru dapat mengkalaborasikan pendekatan Active Learning tipe Index Card Match (ICM) dengan metode pengajaran ekspositori bertujuan membantu siswa dalam memahami dan memecahkan masalah.
