Abstract

This study aims to create a mathematical model that shows the relationship between quality parameters of oil in the oleochemical industry . To achieve the goal, a research laboratory was conduct to determination of water content and free fatty acid values of crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) and oil sold in the public market . The research data were analyzed descriptively by using Pearson moment correlation . The results show that ( 1 ) There is a positive relationship between water content with Free Fatty Acid value in the oil or fat in oleochemical industry. On this case, on the higher water content with follow by the higher of the levels of free fatty acids, which be expressed in the form of mathematical models : ALB = 22.28 Kmst - 3.591 . ( 2 ) The Free Fatty Acid value in all samples studied are : 0.61 % in coconut oil , 1.227 % in bulk oil and 0.44 % in margarine, respectively . ( 3 ) . The application of mathematical models obtained by the analysis of oil quality in the public market showed accuracy with an error of 4.545 % of the palm oil , 2.287 % of the bulk oil , but for margarine while this model can not be used
